July 30 is the United Nation’s World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. Unfortunately, traffickers use the transportation industry for recruitment, moving, and delivering victims to buyers. This year’s theme is “Reach every victim of trafficking, leave no one behind.”

In an effort to continue raising awareness on this modern-day slavery, the RTC is hosting a free Advocacy Fair at the Bonneville Transit Center on Thursday, July 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Join FirstMed Health and Wellness Centers, The Cup Cake Girls, The Embracing Project,  Signs of Hope, and the RISE program to provide crucial resources for victim-survivors. From case management and mentoring to counseling and medical care, we offer referrals for food, transportation, residential, and financial assistance.
