It’s time to DROP it like it's TROP! The Nevada Department of Transportation’s (NDOT) “Dropicana” project is reconstructing the I-15 Tropicana Interchange in efforts to add capacity and improve accessibility to the Las Vegas Strip. The RTC urges transit passengers and motorists to prepare for detours and delays during this 18-month long project.
Construction will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 17 resulting in a full closure of Tropicana Avenue from January 22-30 and a full closure of I-15 from Jan. 27-30. How may this affect you?
Transit Riders:
Due to increased traffic, transit riders should prepare for detours and possible delays in the following routes:
CX – Centennial Express
Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 11 p.m. – Sunday, Jan. 29 at 11 p.m.
Detour to Flamingo Rd, Koval Ln and Hacienda Ave. from I-15
ROUTE 201 – Tropicana
Sunday, Jan. 22 at midnight – Monday, Jan. 30 at 5 a.m.
Detour on Tropicana from Valley View Blvd. and Las Vegas Blvd.

Paratransit Customers:
RTC paratransit customers with rides scheduled near I-15 and Tropicana Ave. are urged to call (702) 228-4800 to verify if their ride will be impacted.
Motorists:
Drivers are highly encouraged to seek alternate routes to prepare for detours and delays due to the following closures and restricted access: Tuesday, Jan. 17 –Monday, Jan. 30
Expect restricted access around the area of I-15 and Tropicana Ave. The ramps from I-15 to Tropicana will be closed.
Sunday, Jan. 22 at 5 a.m. – Monday, Jan. 30
Tropicana Ave. closed in both directions between Dean Martin Drive and New York-New York
Friday, Jan. 27 at 10 p.m. – Monday, Jan. 30 at 5 a.m.
I-15 will be CLOSED in both directions between Russell Rd and Flamingo Rd.
