LAS VEGAS – Southern Nevadans are invited to celebrate National Bike Month with the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) and their partners throughout the month of May.

Together with the City of Las Vegas, Southern Nevada Bicycle Coalition, Bicycle Transit Systems, Club Ride, and Las Vegas Cyclery, National Bike Month will feature a variety of activities that offer fun for everyone.

To encourage our community to join the month-long celebration, the RTC is offering FREE 30-day Explorer passes for RTC Bike Share throughout the month. RTC Bike Share offers convenient bicycle rentals throughout downtown Las Vegas, and now users can try it at no cost by signing up anytime through May 31. May 6: Downtown Community Ride Hosted by Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman

The fun continues at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 6, when the entire community is invited to participate in a family-friendly ride hosted by Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman. The four-mile ride beginning at Llama Lot at 900 E. Fremont St. will feature community booths, bike maintenance information, bike share rentals, giveaways, and refreshments. Participants can either bring their own bicycles or use RTC Bike Share bikes for free. Registration is required at rtcsnv.com/bikemonth2023.

May 13: Bike Clinic at Bonneville Transit Center

Las Vegas Cyclery will host an informative Bike Clinic on Saturday, May 13, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the bike center inside the Bonneville Transit Center, 101 S. Bonneville Ave. Participants will learn about bicycle maintenance and safety and receive a free water bottle. Space is limited to the first 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.

May 15-21: Bike to Work Week

Club Ride, the RTC program that rewards commuters for taking transit, walking, carpooling, telecommuting, and biking, will choose one cyclist who records at least two biking commutes during the week with a $50 gift card.

May 19: Bike to Work Day

On Friday, May 19, from 9 to 11 a.m., the Southern Nevada Bicycle Coalition, along with RTC, Club Ride, and Las Vegas Cyclery, will celebrate Bike To Work Day with information and giveaways at the Bonneville Transit Center.

Rounding out the month will be a bike clinic and family-friendly community ride on Saturday, May 27, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Mountain’s Edge Regional Park, 8101 W. Mountain’s Edge Parkway. Participants will learn bike safety and basic maintenance skills to keep their bikes in good riding condition.
