Notice of Public Comment Period for a 2017-2040 Regional Transportation Plan Amendment
The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) is seeking public comment on the 2017 – 2040 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) Amendment, number 20-05. The RTP amendment makes adjustments to Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funds in the federal fiscal years of 2020 to 2023 for the continued maintenance and operation of the RTC transit system in Southern Nevada. The following changes are requested by the project sponsor:
- Add a new project for the RTC transit system for the capital cost of contracting (preventive maintenance) in the amount of $120,000,000
- Reduce funds from $8,062,500 to $5,562,500 for the regional transit security system
- Reduce funds from $40,169,669 to $31,853,330 for the transit enhancements and bus shelters program
- Reduce funds from $66,994,312 to $41,994,312 for transit facilities acquisitions and improvements
- Reduce funds from $342,141,470 to $262,335,581 for the fixed-route bus replacement program
This amendment does not impact air quality and is consistent with the RTP. Project details will be available on rtcsnv.com during a 21-day public comment period from May 22, 2020, to June 12, 2020.
