Did you know that our Paratransit service delivers both quality driving and quality care? Last month, we recognized MV Transportation, Paratransit Operator, Carlos Campos, at our October Board Commission meeting. Carlos was walking his passenger to the door when he noticed she did not look well and suddenly fell. Carlos acted swiftly and prevented her from hitting her head against the concrete floor and stayed with her and helped her get back up.  

Carlos has been driving for four years and understands firsthand the challenges of navigating the healthcare and accessibility world. He has two children with disabilities who he’s immensely proud of and who he lovingly cares for. The pride he feels in caring for his family is the same pride he has for his work. Carlos is committed to getting his passengers where they need to be, safely, comfortably and without worry.  

His love for his work shows. While he was training, he immediately knew he was in the right place. “This means a lot to me, I’m a people person and love working with people, particularly those who may be more vulnerable.  I was meant for this job.”

First time hearing about our Paratransit and Accessibility services?

Thanks to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the RTC, these services exist to assist who are not able to use our fixed route system.

Paratransit Service is a reservation-based, door-to-door service available to individuals who experience a physical, psychiatric, cognitive, memory or visual impairment. An in-person assessment is required to provide the best service and tools individuals may need.

RTC paratransit service is available every day of the year, 24 hours a day.
