March is Women’s History Month, and we are here to celebrate the progress of females worldwide – while still recognizing that we have much farther to go to achieve equality and inclusion at work, at home and in society.

More than half of the U.S. population are women, and more than half of transit passengers nationwide, too. However, women make up less than 15 percent of all transportation workers, according to a 2019 report from the Mineta Transportation Institute.

At the RTC, we are proud to say that women constitute nearly 50 percent of staff. Look for a blog story later this month that highlights female leaders across our agency.
