As we commemorate Women’s History Month, we shine a spotlight on the remarkable achievements and contributions of these female leaders who are transforming the landscape of transportation in Southern Nevada.

At the helm of RTC is M.J. Maynard, our visionary CEO who has spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives to enhance mobility and accessibility for all. Under her leadership, RTC has launched innovative programs such as on-demand mobility options, revolutionizing the way people navigate the region. Maynard's strategic vision has also led to the largest transit service expansion in the agency's history, regional planning studies addressing climate change and transportation equity, innovative traffic technology pilot programs, and expansion of bike share and e-bike programs – fostering a more sustainable and inclusive transportation ecosystem.

Maynard serves on the national board of WTS (Women in Transportation Seminar), which enables her to play a role in influencing the development of programs and initiatives tailored specifically to the needs and talents of women who want to make their mark in an incredibly dynamic industry.

Working alongside Maynard is Angela Castro, Deputy CEO, whose expertise in strategic planning and public engagement has been instrumental in driving forward RTC's mission. Castro oversees all public-facing initiatives, ensuring that the agency remains responsive to the needs of the community while advancing its goals in public transportation, regional planning, transportation funding and traffic management.
