In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the RTC is celebrating the many contributions of our employees, contractors, and community partners.
The RTC has a long-standing partnership with the Latin Chamber of Commerce in Las Vegas, which provides job opportunities and resources to Hispanic owned businesses all across the valley.
Many of the road improvements funded by Fuel Revenue Indexing (FRI) are, in part, thanks to a diverse workforce. Since 2014, Hispanic Local Small Businesses account for $7.8 million in contracts, or approximately 10% of all Local Small Business dollars.
In 2018, 40% of the transit and roadways workforce was Hispanic.
Our outreach efforts go beyond job opportunities. During the same year, the Hispanic community made up 24% of the people surveyed on the future of transportation.
Watch the video below to learn more about the man leading the Latin Chamber, how the RTC works with the organization and the benefits to the community it represents.
