There’s no better place to recognize the 40th anniversary of National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW) than Las Vegas. Created by the U.S. Travel Association and observed this year from May 7 to 13, NTTW is an annual tradition of celebrating the tourism community and travel’s essential role in powering economies, communities and connections. We can’t celebrate this annual event without thanking the countless individuals that make Southern Nevada’s tourism industry run like a well-oiled machine.

This year’s NTTW theme is #TravelForward, which is exactly what Southern Nevada continues to do. Our resiliency following COVID-19 impacts and closures is remarkable, and we continue to shatter tourism records. Passenger counts at Harry Reid International Airport continue to climb. Year over year counts for February and March increased 24.9 percent and 15.6 percent in 2023, respectively. And a new report by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority found that the economic impact driven by the Las Vegas tourism industry hit a record high $79.3 billion in 2022!

Like Southern Nevada, the RTC continues to #TravelForward, providing accessible, convenient, affordable, and safe transportation options for visitors and the many employees who support our tourism industry. Whether it’s connecting a resort employee to their job on the strip via transit, offering a bike share system that allows visitors to explore downtown Las Vegas or funding the streets and highways that millions of tourists travel upon each year, the RTC is at the center of it all.

And our work is never done.  The RTC is currently conducting a survey to understand your commute and how we can improve your daily life.  Share your thoughts via our short online survey by Friday, May 12, and received a FREE 24-hour pass and be entered to win a 30-day pass.

To the countless individuals who support our tourism industry and ultimately our economy, we thank you for creating a world-class experience that visitors have come to enjoy. Let’s continue to work together and #TravelForward!
