“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” – Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!

March 2 is National Read Across America Day – a day to celebrate the joys and wonders of reading and a day set aside to encourage children to read.

So pick up a book and soon you’ll be hooked – you can read on a bus; you can read in a chair; there’s really no fuss, you’ll read it with flair!

And if you don’t have time to make it out to the library, the RTC and Las Vegas-Clark County Library District (LVCCLD) have you covered. Through our partnership, riders can instantly access digital books, audiobooks, magazines, independent films, concerts, music, documentaries and much more on any smart device while riding or waiting for their bus – all without the need of a library card!

To get started, access RTC Wi-Fi for free and visit LVCCLD.org/anywhere with your phone or tablet. Once you access the website, you’ll be prompted to download the free Libby app, available on iPhone and Android devices. All digital resources can be accessed immediately or downloaded for future use.

Reading is a great way to pass the time and to entertain the kids as the RTC takes you to all the places you’ll go!

The National Education Association started Read Across America in 1998 to encourage children to read and to get excited about books. It's also known as “Dr. Seuss” Day in honor of his birthday.
