Proactive approach to transit security benefits all

With a transit system that runs 24/7, the top priority for the RTC is to provide a safe and secure ride to work, the grocery store, medical appointments and more.  The new Community Relations Transit Team (CRTT) was launched in November last year to help do just that.

Special teams of security guards are assigned to each shift, around the clock, to interact with riders, provide customer service and help provide a positive riding experience.  Need directions? See something suspicious? Need help with the rideRTC mobile app or Transit Watch?  Forgot your mask?  These teams are out there ready to help.

The CRTT program is an innovative effort in public transit, and is already proving valuable for riders, operators and officers. In just the few short months since the program began, positive feedback has been shared with customer care agents and on the Transit Watch app.

Take a ride with officers Bran and Lerma on their patrol for a look at how they operate.  And next time you ride, keep an eye out for a team just like them, ready to assist, support and protect.
