On the Road highlights recently completed construction projects on our roadways. The series features the RTC, partner agencies, and our contractors who are working to improve mobility and enhance safety as we continue to fund roadway maintenance and improvement projects.

This week, On the Road will be visiting the City of North Las Vegas, which recently invested $1.75 million in a significant arterial roadway project.

“As one of the heaviest traveled roadways in North Las Vegas, the Decatur Boulevard connector, from Cheyenne Avenue to Rancho Drive and Decatur Boulevard from Lone Mountain to Ann Road, was in dire need of a quick asphalt surface repair,” said North Las Vegas Director of Public Works Dale Daffern. “By working with the RTC to expedite design and construction, we were able to reduce taxpayer cost and stay ahead of schedule, causing minimal impact to drivers. We appreciate the RTC’s partnership to improve our roads and make North Las Vegas a better place.”

The project helped bring much-needed updates to the community including, Americans with Disabilities (ADA) upgrades to the sidewalks and create accessible pathways for all pedestrians, new asphalt paving on the streets, and additional street signage to help clearly define the roadways.
