New way to board the bus and stop the spread

Hey, transit riders! Help us encourage social distancing by entering and exiting RTC buses through the rear doors. This will help keep riders and drivers farther away from each other, while also preventing the potential spread of the coronavirus. We should also mention the front doors will remain available to ADA riders using a mobility device or those who may need a little help boarding the bus.

We understand the fare box and validator are located near the front door of the bus, which makes it difficult to collect fares at this time.

In our ongoing efforts to protect our drivers and riders, we are working with our contractors to supply operators with masks, gloves, and hand sanitizers. Bigger buses are also in rotation to allow for more space between riders inside each vehicle. This is on top of crews thoroughly cleaning the bus floors, windows, interior rails, seats and the driver's area and applying a disinfectant solution on every public transit vehicle each night.

We understand we’ve made several changes to our transit operations but rest assure it is all in an effort to flatten the curve and help keep Southern Nevada safe.

As always, thank you for doing your part!
