Part of the RTC’s recent service expansion, RTC-OnDemand is a universal transit pilot project that serves a more-than-30-square-mile-zone of the valley with new transportation and connectivity options. Customers within the southwest valley and West Henderson can be picked up from their doorstep and dropped off near multiple locations within the OnDemand zone (a short walk may be required). Or they can travel to a location outside of the OnDemand zone by transferring to fixed-route transit at the edge of the service area. This new service also benefits paratransit customers by offering door-to-door service throughout the RTC service area.
By offering rides at the customer’s request, instead of requiring riders to plan their trip around a bus schedule, RTC-OnDemand offers flexible booking options. Rides can be scheduled up to seven days in advance or for the same day within 30 minutes. And they can be easily booked using the using the RTC-OnDemand mobile app, the RTC-OnDemand website, or by calling 702.676.1801.
The RTC partnered with RideCo, an industry leader in on-demand transit technology, to implement the pilot project and assist with the transition from a fixed-only transit schedule to a dynamic, on-demand model.
“The RTC OnDemand service is growing and gaining traction since service launch,” said RideCo Co-founder and CEO Prem Gururajan. “We are pleased to continue our partnership with RTC to provide improved transit access to members of the Las Vegas communities.”
Not only is RTC-OnDemand convenient, it’s comfortable as well. The smaller 12-person vehicles offer free WiFi and bike racks and is ADA accessible to accommodate wheelchair passengers. And at just $2 for a one-way ride, it’s a great deal.
