In honor of the sustainability theme, we are also celebrating Club Ride’s community partners who are helping reduce Southern Nevada’s carbon footprint. Just last week, a number of businesses were recognized for their exceptional contributions to the Club Ride program during the 2019 Star Awards at the STRAT Hotel & Casino. If you don’t already know, Club Ride is a free RTC program that works with employers and commuters in Clark County to establish custom commute programs and offers incentives to encourage new modes for getting to work such as carpooling, vanpooling, riding transit, walking, bicycling, motorcycling, telecommuting, and compressed work weeks.
The benefits to the participants and the environment are significant. By the numbers from October 1, 2018 to September 30, 2019 Club Ride has:
- eliminated more than 8.6 million miles off the road (vehicle miles traveled)
- reduced 86 tons of carbon monoxide emissions
- saved its more than 11,000 active members almost $2.7 million in car-related fees
- awarded more than 3,800 prizes
The success of the program is due in part to all 362 employer partners who are leading the way to a greener Southern Nevada. Check out the list of 2019 Star Awards winners. Congratulations to all!
