Hey, transit riders! Do you know about the service changes that will go into effect Sunday, Dec. 8? You’ll be especially pleased if you’re enrolled in classes at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Henderson campus or Nevada State College. Read on, dear rider!

The RTC is implementing a number of improvements to increase service on some of our most popular routes to better serve you. CSN Henderson, NSC and the surrounding neighborhoods will be served by three bus trips per hour that will meet growing demand without additional cost to the RTC. Specifically:

  • Route 217 (Warm Springs / Lake Mead Parkway) will now have more convenient two-way service with a condensed loop east of Boulder Highway, providing more direct service for transit  riders in the area.
  • The Boulder Highway Express (BHX) will branch into the BHX‑A and BHX‑B south of Lake Mead Parkway to improve service to both CSN and NSC campuses. The current BHX will become BHX‑A. The new BHX‑B will remain on Boulder Highway and continue to Nevada State Drive, ending at NSC.
  • The Henderson & Downtown Express (HDX) will now take Water Street to Pacific Avenue and Horizon Drive (replacing Route 217) and will also serve the CSN Henderson campus.

“I like that the 217 loops both ways now,” said transit rider Amanda P. “It’s more convenient now.”

And for those who are often in and near downtown Las Vegas, frequency along Route 215 (Bonanza) will increase to every 20 minutes during weekday daytime hours, making service more convenient for customers than the current service of every 30 minutes. This is the 16th RTC route out of 39 to operate every 20 minutes or better during weekday daytime hours! Find all of our routes and schedules here.

In total, there will be schedule changes on 27 routes, ranging from very minor to a complete scheduling overhaul to improve service and efficiency. Make sure you’re prepared by reviewing the complete list of changes on the service change webpage.
