March is National Women’s History Month, a month-long celebration designated in 1987 by the U.S. Congress in recognition of women’s accomplishments throughout history.

We’re kicking off the month, and National Women in Construction Week, by highlighting RGD Construction founder and CEO Dawn Barnes. Dawn has defied odds and made a name for herself in what is typically considered a male-dominated industry.

RGD Construction launched 5 years ago and just last year was named the winner of the annual Las Vegas Raiders Small Business Showcase. This award grants small businesses in Nevada a chance at a single-season sponsorship agreement with the Raiders.

Dawn’s future continues to shine brightly as RGD Construction recently became RiSE certified! RiSE certification allows small and diverse businesses to become more discoverable by agencies looking for firms that are ready, willing, and able to work on infrastructure projects.
