The Vegas Heat is coming, and we are here to help you keep cool this summer!
As Las Vegas hits triple-digit temperatures, we know many of our riders must brace the heat for extended periods, especially in times of delayed service. We’re sorry we’ve let you down with our recent service, and thank you for your patience as we continue to work towards a more consistent transit experience.
While our contractors turn up the heat on driver recruitment, we want to make sure our riders have the resources necessary to #KeepCoolLV.
This year, we are teaming up with some new and returning partners to help increase awareness and promote safety while traveling during Southern Nevada’s hottest months. Over the next several weeks, catch us at the Bonneville Transit Center, the South Strip Transit Terminal, and along routes to talk heat safety and get some useful giveaways from our Summer Heat partners, including bottled water, hand sanitizer, sunscreen and exclusive discounts for family-friendly food and entertainment.
Helping riders stay safe from heat-related illness is Comprehensive Cancer Centers, who is returning to the campaign by providing free sunscreen to protect riders from the damaging effects of the sun’s powerful UV rays. Three Square and Nevada Health Link are also returning as this year’s water providers. Donations by other local businesses include the Southern Nevada Health District, Sumnu Marketing, and the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. The RTC will raffle off a family 4-pack of tickets to DISCOVERY Children’s Museum to one lucky transit rider each week!
The RTC also welcomes new and existing partners to provide exclusive discounts for transit riders. To enjoy the RTC Summer Heat deals, riders can simply present their paper or digital transit pass at the following businesses:
