Among many of the priorities we have, taking care of yourself and/or your loved ones should be high on the list. As your health journey continues into 2023, Nevada Health Link shares tips to help you be healthy year-round.

  1. Enroll in affordable health insurance

Annual checkups are crucial to stay up-to-date with your cholesterol and glucose levels, blood pressure, weight, and immunizations. By enrolling in an affordable health plan with Nevada Health Link, you can take preventive measures to combat diseases and injuries. There are more than 100 qualified health plans available in Clark County, all covering the 10 essential health benefits.

The open enrollment period is going on until January 15 at NevadaHealthLink.com. It is one of the only times Nevadans can sign up to be insured throughout the year. Be part of the nearly 9 out of 10 Nevadans saving on premiums right now with their health plan through the state exchange.

  1. Stay on top of your vaccines

From influenza to COVID-19, the CDC recommends that everyone age six months and older get both vaccines, as well as other immunizations. Once you find a preferred physician through your health insurance plan, talk to them about your eligibility for a booster shot and review trusted resources. On top of vaccines, regular hand-washing is one of the best ways to protect yourself from illnesses.

  1. Exercise regularly

Get moving for at least 30 minutes, three days a week to help regulate your weight, blood flow and stress levels. You don’t have to be an athlete to participate in regular exercise. Start by taking the stairs instead of the elevator, do stretches during TV commercials and take a stroll in your neighborhood.
