What’s a mobility lab, you ask? A mobility lab is a vehicle that brings the training experience of the Mobility Training Center (MTC) directly to our clients. The MTC's mission is to train Southern Nevadans with disabilities to confidently and safely use public transit and certify those eligible for paratransit service. Inside are two buses, Las Vegas streetscapes, traffic signals and ambient sound to replicate everyday commuting. Thanks to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) “Mobility for All” grant, we are nearing the launch of this latest program aimed to improve transportation access among vulnerable populations.
And this week, we joined forces with Opportunity Village to host an art judging event attended by local community partners and elected officials. Opportunity Village students submitted their creations as potential wrap design options for the brand new Mobility Training Lab set to hit the valley streets later this year!
Now you have the opportunity to help pick the final wrap design! Starting next week, you’ll be able to vote for the winning design on RTC’s social media pages. Do you follow us? If not, make sure to head over to our Instagram, Facebook and Twitter @rtcsnv to cast your vote from March 15-19.
Each piece of art reflects the artists’ personal style while embodying the project’s theme, Transportation Independence. Thank you to the artists at Opportunity Village who tapped into their creative minds for this exciting project!
