Save time, save money, save the environment – telecommute!
It’s Telecommuter Appreciation Week! Recognized the first week in March and to celebrate Alexander Graham Bell’s birthday (March 3), the American Telecommuting Association uses the week to promote the benefit of working from home while staying connected to the office.
For those who are able to telecommute, there are many advantages and benefits:
1. It increases individual and family time (allowing more “me time” or family togetherness), lowers commuting expenses, reduces stress, allows for more scheduling flexibility, and provides greater work satisfaction.
2. The employer benefits from higher productivity, loyalty, and job satisfaction, a stronger focus on job performance, better recruiting and longer retention of the most productive employees. There is also a reduction in overhead and facility expenses.
3. Society as a whole benefits from reduced traffic congestion, minimized air pollution, lower requirements for (and strain on) transportation infrastructure, and decreased demand for scarce and non-renewable resources like fossil fuels.
4. By reporting your telecommute to Club Ride, a FREE RTC program, you can be entered to win prizes each month.
Club Ride is designed to help improve air quality by encouraging the use of green commutes such as telecommuting, carpooling, vanpooling, riding transit, walking, bicycling, motorcycling, and compressed work weeks.
In 2021, Club Ride commuters reported 118,549 telework trips, which is 23% of all logged Club Ride trips. This equates to removing more than 2.5 million travel miles from our roadways and 1,000 tons of emission from our atmosphere.
Club Ride Rewards is an incentive program and you can win prizes each month just by reporting your daily commute. Click HERE for more information and to sign up.
