LAS VEGAS – The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) will be celebrating Transit Rider Appreciation Week, beginning Tuesday, Feb. 22, to thank customers for their continued patience, patronage and support during the pandemic. To show appreciation, the RTC will celebrate with pop-up events, giveaways and prizes for customers.

“We are delighted to show our appreciation to longstanding customers and new riders during Transit Rider Appreciation Week,” said MJ Maynard, RTC chief executive officer. “We know that recent workforce shortage and pandemic impacts have affected riders’ daily lives, and we are especially thankful for their support as we work to improve service and make it more reliable and accessible.”

During the three-day event, transit riders will be treated to Pinkbox Doughnuts, a personal pizza from Marsigliano’s Pizzeria with a purchase of a drink and a valid bus pass, free 24-hour bus passes and other fun prizes. Transit riders can catch up with RTC staff passing out giveaways along some of our most popular transit routes and at pop-up events at the following locations:

  • Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Bonneville Transit Center, 101 E. Bonneville Ave.
  • Wednesday, Feb. 23: Surprise Squad at stops throughout the system
  • Thursday, Feb. 24, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.: South Strip Transit Terminal, 6675 Gilespie St.

Transit riders will also have the opportunity at each event to learn more about the temporary Saturday schedule change that goes into effect Tuesday, Feb. 22, ask RTC staff questions and provide feedback. For additional details about Transit Rider Appreciation events, visit rtcsnv.com.
