If you’ve traveled on Blue Diamond Road in the past year, chances are you’ve noticed the new and unique restaurants that have popped up offering some of the best dining options in town. The newest way to get to all of the offerings in the area is with RTC-OnDemand.

The on-demand ride-share service is exclusive to the southwest and West Henderson parts of the valley. The best part? It’s the same price as a regular RTC transit pass, which means you can hail a ride from Mountain’s Edge to M Resort for just $2.

The service has become popular amongst high school students in the area, as well as riders traveling to work, restaurants and much more. Those taking advantage of the service have another reason to hop on board. Not only do customers get efficient and cost-effective on-demand service, but they can also enjoy exclusive access to perks ranging from 10-percent off food at local restaurants to $20 off an oil change.

To showcase the amazing offerings in the area, as well as the new service provided by the RTC, we took three dining journalists for a tour. Stopping at our restaurant partners Bajamar Seafood & Tacos, El Luchador Mexican Kitchen and Cantina, Locale Italian Kitchen, Mountain West Eatery and Sharky’s, we tasted a bit of everything!

The Las Vegas Review Journal noted that “If neighborhood residents didn’t have a car, or perhaps if they wanted to safely indulge in a few adult beverages nearby, they had limited options…so RTC stepped into the marketplace with a technology-forward ride-share program.”

Desert Companion added that “the opportunity to travel from the far end of Mountain’s Edge to the M Resort for less than a cup of coffee (when traditional rideshares charge north of $20) seems ideal.”

Effective transportation is great, but what about all the food? Watch a recap of the foodie media tour and hear from some of the participating partners in the video below.
