RTC buses to follow Sunday schedule on Monday, May 27
LAS VEGAS – The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) encourages commuters to plan ahead to avoid heavy traffic and delays during the coming Memorial Day weekend. Additionally, transit riders should note RTC buses will operate on a Sunday schedule on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27.
Travelers are advised to avoid I-15 southbound at the California-Nevada state line between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday, May 27, as heavy traffic is expected during this period. Drivers can visit SeeingOrangenv.com to get details on current roadway construction projects and the most up-to-date traffic information.
“At the Southern Nevada Traffic Management Center, we see some of our heaviest traffic volumes of the year on I-15 as visitors head to Las Vegas for Memorial Day weekend. We urge drivers to plan their travel schedule outside of the heaviest traffic delays and consider using RTC transit or Bike Share to get around Las Vegas during their stay,” said David Swallow, RTC Deputy CEO.
RTC’s transit service includes the Deuce on the Strip, which runs every 10-15 minutes, 24 hours a day, offering convenience and flexibility for visitors and residents to the Las Vegas Resort Corridor. Travelers looking to utilize public transportation during the holiday weekend can purchase passes through the rideRTC app or tap to pay with a debit/credit card, smartphone wallet or smart watch.
For those flying this holiday weekend, the RTC offers free parking at the Centennial Hills Transit Center or the South Strip Transit Terminal with direct transit service to Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 of Harry Reid International Airport via the Centennial Express (CX) or Route 109 Maryland Parkway.
