Click to Tweet: .@RTCSNV is #thankful for its customers and urges everyone to plan ahead for heavy #holidaytraffic and delays in and out of Las Vegas. #RTCSNV buses will operate on a holiday schedule in observance of #Thanksgiving 11/25 and Family Day 11/26.

LAS VEGAS – The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) is encouraging commuters to plan ahead and anticipate heavy traffic and delays during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. RTC buses will operate on a Sunday schedule for transit service on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 25 and Saturday schedule for transit service on Family Day, Friday, Nov. 26.

Drivers traveling in and out of Southern Nevada should prepare for longer commutes, particularly during peak travel times. To avoid traffic congestion and delays, drivers should note that peak drive times on I-15 include Saturday, Nov. 27 between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 28 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Commuters can sign up for traffic alerts on the RTC website to have the most up-to-date traffic information.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to use RTC’s public transit options, including free park-and-ride facilities, to help ease congestion on the roadways. Transit routes including the Deuce on the Strip, which runs every 15-20 minutes 24 hours a day, offer convenience and accessibility to help riders move throughout the Las Vegas Strip. Riders can plan trips and purchase passes through the agency’s free rideRTC app.
