LAS VEGAS – The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) will operate its fixed route system on a Saturday schedule on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 20. Additionally, road closures due to the annual MLK Day parade will result in detours in the downtown Las Vegas area from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. To see the list of downtown transit routes affected by the detours, check the RTC’s Special Event Detours online section often for updates.
Parade attendees can avoid traffic and parking fees downtown by taking transit to the parade. RTC operates 17 routes that offer convenient and affordable options to get downtown. Riders can conveniently plan their transit trip using the free and easy-to-use rideRTC app.
In addition to events and activities on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the RTC will also be out in the community at Broadacres Marketplace at 2930 Las Vegas Blvd. N on Saturday, Jan. 18 to gather feedback on On Board, our future mobility plan for the Las Vegas valley. Participants will have the opportunity to take an online survey to rate the importance of eight categories of transportation improvements, including new high-capacity transit options, safer travel options and easier short walking trips. And even better, those who complete the survey will be entered to win tickets to upcoming Vegas Golden Knights hockey games. Transit routes offer convenient and affordable options to get to this event: 111, 113 and 218.
The On Board online survey will be available through March 31 and includes transportation benefits and recommendations for everyone. Throughout the survey period, the RTC will conduct bi-weekly drawings for Vegas Golden Knights tickets from fully completed surveys received.
