Calling all NSC and CSN students! There is a new way to get to campus. The Campus Commuter is a FREE shuttle service offered to NSC and CSN students who need to travel between the different higher education institutions. After several requests from the college community, the Campus Commuter began operating in late February.
You are probably wondering how it works. Great question! In order to ride the Campus Commuter, all you need to do is show the bus driver your student ID. There are three 24-passenger shuttles on the road that stop at all three CSN campuses (West Charleston, North Las Vegas, and Henderson), Nevada State College, and the East Las Vegas Library. The Campus Commuter is divided into two routes. The Blue Line runs between CSN Charleston and CSN North Las Vegas. The Black Line runs between Nevada State College, CSN Henderson, CSN North Las Vegas and East Las Vegas Library.
Students can track shuttles in real time through the DoubleMap app and also use free Wi-Fi to do school work while on board.
The shuttles will operate weekdays from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays. Students should note that there is no service on weekends, holidays, and summer break.
CSN and NSC are splitting the cost of the one-year pilot.
And don’t forget, the RTC is also making it convenient and affordable for students to ride public transportation through discounted bus passes. Learn about the RTC college transit pass and the many routes near college campuses.
