Nevada State College (NSC) is a blooming campus located in the far corners of Henderson, in a newly developing area. Currently, the majority of students live off campus and need reliable public transportation in order to attend their classes and work towards their degrees. We caught up with Julie Penaloza Bernal who is a sophomore at NSC and utilizes our BHX route as her primary source of transportation to get to her classes.

Hear about why she uses RTC to get to school and her experience using transit during the pandemic.

It’s important for us to work with higher education institutions, like NSC, to identify the transportation needs of students. We are proud to work with the college’s leadership to provide service that helps students get to school. In a statement, NSC wrote:

“Nevada State College serves an incredibly diverse and deserving student population. Our students come from around the valley and are often faced with balancing work, school, and childcare. Our tremendous partnership and coordination with the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada has sought to improve public transportation to and from campus. Together, we hope to work with the RTC of Southern Nevada to improve access as well as find innovative transit solutions to meet the needs of our students.”
