We're truly sorry.

Like many service-oriented businesses in Southern Nevada and across the nation, our contractors Keolis, MV and Marksman are currently experiencing a workforce shortage for drivers and security officers. As a result, this may affect your travel time on our transit system.

We apologize in advance for the travel delays that you may experience. Please do not blame the delay in service on your bus driver, who is working hard to cover extra shifts to try to provide you with reliable service. This is a very fluid situation, and service levels may vary from day to day based on workforce availability.

We understand that many of you rely on us to get you to work, school, your medical appointments and more. For real time information and to learn about service delays, please subscribe to our email and text alerts at rtcsnv.com/routes and download the rideRTC app to check the map for active buses on routes. You can easily download the app via the App Store or Google Play for free. This is the best source for up-to-date information. If you need assistance, please call (702) 228-RIDE.

Currently, the number of transit and paratransit drivers and security officers in our workforce is approximately 1,700 positions, with more than approximately 180 vacant positions that our contractors are looking to fill immediately. Prior to our recent service changes that began on Aug. 8, our contractors had the necessary workforce to fulfill our transit service requirements that our community expects. Unfortunately due to recent circumstances, this is now a challenge that we are working to overcome.

We remain committed to providing you with safe and reliable transportation. We are working closely with our contractors to retain our essential drivers and officers, whom we appreciate and value as they continue to work long days through these uncertain times.  We are also working with our contractors to promote the hiring of drivers and security officers. So if you or someone you know is interested in becoming a driver or security officer, please apply directly with Keolis, Marksman or MV through rtcsnv.com. Our contractors are offering signing bonuses, benefits, incentives and an excellent training program to help attract qualified personnel.

In addition, as we navigate through the pandemic, we continue to implement health and safety protocols, including increased cleanings, contactless payment, ion air cleaners, micro-bacterial seat shields, and live, up-to-the-minute bus crowding information.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as our contractors work to hire more drivers and officers. If you have any questions, please call (702) 228-RIDE or email [email protected].

Sincerely,

MJ Maynard
