Bow WOW! Forbes, USA Today and the New York Times declare – Las Vegas loves its dogs!
Earlier this year, Forbes released its “Best Cities for Dogs” list. Coming in at #1 is Henderson sporting 19 dog parks and a high percentage of rental units that allow pets. Las Vegas, with its 11 dog-friendly parks and numerous dog-friendly restaurants, hit the #3 spot.
Forbes suggested checking out the “Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar in Downtown Summerlin and Town Square where your dog can hang out with you at your table and order from their own doggie menu of hamburger patties, chicken, brown rice and veggies.”
Of course dogs love their walks and USA Today and the New York Times reports that Las Vegas is one of the “Best Cities for Dog Walking.” Out of 174 cities reviewed by LawnStarter for their walkability, environment, services and safety, Las Vegas hit the #4 spot!
At the RTC, we know that while many streets in Southern Nevada don’t always work well for pedestrians, we are committed to improving walkability throughout the valley. With that in mind, we worked with local agencies and the community to develop a Regional Walkability Plan. It serves as a blueprint for a walkable street network that connects all people to community destinations, workplaces and transit. We invite you to weigh in!
