Get ready for an unforgettable New Year's Eve celebration in Las Vegas and leave the hassle of driving behind! This year we will once again be offering free rides on all 39 routes from 6 p.m. New Year's Eve until 9 a.m. New Year's Day! The RTC will also be operating on a Sunday transit schedule on New Year’s Day, Monday, Jan. 1.
But before you head out, here are some tips to make your night as smooth as possible, brought to you by our friends at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
- Ditch the heavy baggage – Glass and metal containers, coolers, strollers, and any bags larger than 12x12x6 inches are a no-go on the Strip and downtown, according to county and city ordinances. This includes backpacks, purses, and luggage—travel light and enjoy the festivities hassle-free.
- Parents, take note – There's a curfew for minors under 18 without a parent on the Strip and downtown, so plan accordingly to ensure everyone has a good time within the rules.
- Safety first – As you navigate the lively crowds, always stay aware of your surroundings.
- Dress for the occasion – Las Vegas nights can get chilly, so layer up and plan to wear comfy shoes if you’re walking around the Strip.
If you’re preparing to take transit, we've got your back with the RideRTC app—your key to a stress-free journey. Plan your trips in advance, get real-time traffic info, and sign up for traffic alerts. We're here to make sure you arrive at your destination smoothly.
