Getting race day ready: Essential transit info for the Las Vegas Marathon!

2024-10-24T12:40:16-07:00| Categories: Transit|

As we gear up for the inaugural Las Vegas Marathon, Half-Marathon, and the 702 (7.02-Mile Run) on Sunday, Nov. 3, RTC is implementing necessary transit detours to accommodate street closures. These changes will significantly impact transit riders and motorists from approximately 3 a.m. to 1 p.m., so planning ahead is essential.

What You Need to Know

From 3 a.m. to 1 p.m., expect significant delays on routes that intersect Charleston Boulevard from Summerlin to downtown Las Vegas. During this time, vehicles—including buses—will not be able to cross Charleston intersections. However, intersections will remain open to pedestrians.

Routes and Detours

Due to the marathon, 23 transit routes will be on detour, and routes 101, 102, 103, 120, and 121 will be split into two sections at Charleston. Riders may need to walk between half to one mile to transfer to different buses. Therefore, consider alternative routes or avoiding travel in this area on race day.
