January 11, 2025, is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, aka #WearBlueDay. Human trafficking is a financially lucrative business that generates over $150 billion every year that affects millions across the globe. There is not a single profile for human trafficking, and anyone can be a victim regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, disability, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, etc.
Many things can lead to a person being trafficked including kidnapping and/or being coerced by someone. Tactics such as grooming, isolation, manipulation, and exploitation are used by traffickers to find their victims.
Bring awareness to this crime by participating in #WearBlueDay on January 11th. Show your support by:
- Wearing blue, the international color of human trafficking awareness, to state your commitment to help save lives.
- Posting a photo or video of yourself, or with others, on your social media using the hashtag #WearBlueDay.
- Challenging your friends, family, or colleagues to get involved.
