Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican provides a variety of community benefit programs designed to meet the health care needs of the residents of Southern Nevada. One of Dignity Health’s collaborative efforts between St. Rose Dominican Hospitals and Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the Engelstad Foundation R.E.D. Rose program.

Through its R.E.D. Rose Program, Dignity Health – St. Rose Dominican provides free clinical breast exams, mammograms, ultrasounds, surgical consultations, and biopsies to women and men who lack adequate health care resources or the financial means to obtain them.

Many of these medical services are located on regular RTC routes and can be accessed easily using RTC bus service.

R.E.D. Rose (RED stands for Responsible Early Detection), and since its inception in 2004, the program has provided screenings, clinical breast exams, mammograms, ultrasounds, surgical consultations, and biopsies for more than 7,000 clients in southern Nevada.

“It’s important to remind Southern Nevadans that preventive breast exams are available at no cost, with no need for medical insurance or proof of legal status,” said Mark Domingo, Dignity Health Community Health Manager.  “The R.E.D. Rose Program can also provide financial assistance for those in need while going through chemotherapy or other breast cancer treatment, including rent and house payments, utility bills, gas cards for transportation, and grocery cards with proof of breast cancer treatment.”

Breast cancer survival rate for both women and men is directly related to early detection and treatment. The primary goal of the R.E.D. Rose program is to address the need for quality breast cancer screenings, early diagnostic screenings, and treatment.
