Congressman Steven Horsford, NDOT Director Kristina Swallow, and RTC CEO MJ Maynard held a “Commuting With Your Congressman” transportation event at the Bonneville Transit Center on Monday, Dec. 20.  The event highlighted the benefits of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) for Nevada and riders shared their transportation experiences with speakers and guests. Congressman Horsford voted to pass the Act, which was signed by President Biden last month.

During the event, Congressman Horsford presented the RTC with a ceremonial check representing the $150 million that our community will receive to improve public transportation and roadways throughout Southern Nevada.

“Investments in public transit are investments in Nevada’s future,” said Congressman Steven Horsford. “This funding means fewer cars on the road, less pollution, and faster commute times — especially in the underserved communities that rely on public transit the most.”

Projects funded through the IIJA will focus on efforts to support safety, equity, modernization, and climate action.
