The Cactus Avenue project from Fort Apache Road to Buffalo Drive is now complete! This major safety improvement effort, led by Clark County, has transformed the area with widened roads, new sidewalks, and updated traffic signals. Drivers now enjoy two lanes in each direction, which has eased traffic flow and increased safety for everyone.

One of the standout features is the 110-foot bridge over Duck Creek, connecting Cactus Avenue to Buffalo Drive. This bridge accommodates three travel lanes, bike lanes, and pedestrians, making it much easier and safer to cross. In addition, 81 new LED streetlights, fresh sidewalks, and ADA-compliant ramps enhance the area’s safety and accessibility.

The upgraded traffic signal at Cactus and Buffalo includes advanced vehicle detection loops and cameras, ensuring smoother traffic flow. A flashing pedestrian crossing near a local school adds an extra layer of safety for students. New storm drains were installed, addressing drainage issues and keeping the road safe during heavy rains.

With new pavement, updated signage, and improved medians, Cactus Avenue is now a safer and more efficient road for the community.
