While celebrating Black History Month, the RTC was excited to catch up with one of our local business partners, Melvin “Mel” Green of KME Architects.

KME Architects is a full service architectural firm established in 2009, owned by Mel Green and his partner Emanuele Arguelles. These partners have more than 30 years of combined experience in architecture, and are strong advocates for small and minority-owned businesses and the youth that will be the next generation of architects and business owners.

Mel pays homage to those who blazed the trails that led to the opportunities minorities have today and tells us how excited he is to be “living the dream.” Mel reminded us that Black History Month is all year round at KME and that, “Black history to us means culture, black excellence, and black empowerment.”

He shared with us a little about his experience working with the RTC and talked about the importance of small businesses making sure their firms are qualified and capable of performing when pursuing all projects.
