Enjoy a little black Friday deal and take our survey by midnight on Sunday, Nov. 28 for your chance to win two tickets to the Dec. 5 Raiders game!
With the recent passage of the $1.2 trillion bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), transportation is a topic on everyone’s mind and with good reason! The IIJA promises much-needed and historic levels of transportation funding and will create good-paying jobs for our community that will help grow and diversify Nevada’s economy. The bill will increase funding for many of the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada’s (RTC) programs such as mass transit, zero-emission vehicles, and innovative pilot programs that promote mobility, technology, and safety.
The future of transportation is always a focus for the RTC, but since 2017, the agency has been building the On Board Mobility Plan. This roadmap for transportation is the result of multiple community engagement efforts that reached more than 80,000 individuals, and three public surveys which garnered more than 30,000 responses. Input from community outreach and surveys helped identify 8 transportation priorities with more than 60 projects. The successful development of this plan has been recognized by other agencies across the country, earning it a National Award for Excellence in MPO Coordination and Partnership from the American Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO).
With the passage of the IIJA, it’s the perfect time to take the On Board plan back to the community to reaffirm the community’s support of the On Board vision and rank previously identified community preferences with a focus on high-capacity transit, and prioritize key corridors. You can participate and help shape the future of transportation now by taking the survey today!
Have a little extra time over the holiday, or need a break from family time? Take the survey by midnight on Sunday, Nov. 28 for your chance to win two tickets to the Dec. 5 Raiders home game against the Washington Football Team!
The survey will continue to be available through Jan. 20, 2022, and RTC outreach staff will be attending events throughout the community providing many opportunities to participate.
