A look back at the Las Vegas MLK Day parade ahead of Dr. King’s birthday

For almost four decades, the legacy of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, has been celebrated in Las Vegas with a parade that brings the community together to honor the tremendous impact Dr. King has had on our lives. While the 39th annual MLK Day parade will not be held in person, the RTC will be participating in this year’s virtual celebration in support of our amazing community and in partnership with the MLK Committee of Las Vegas, the organization that puts together the parade.

We caught up with parade founder, Wendell P. Williams, who has created an innovative way to honor Dr. King.

As Dr. King said, “The time is always right to do what is right.” The RTC team feels it’s only right to continue a tradition of honoring a man who has helped so many people practice non-violence and equality for everyone. You can tune in to join the celebration as it streams live Monday, January 18,  at 10 a.m. on www.kingweeklasvegas.com. Don’t miss out as our RTC leaders make a cameo with a special message for our community.
