America’s labor shortage has continued to impact many industries, and the transportation industry is no exception.
Like many service-oriented businesses in Southern Nevada and across the nation, our contractors continue to experience a workforce shortage for drivers and security officers. Unfortunately, with the recent increase in COVID-19 cases across the valley, we have also seen an increase of cases in our workforce, adding to a reduction in available staff. As a result, we want our riders to know that this may affect your travel time on our transit system.
Providing safe and reliable transit service has remained a top priority at the RTC and we understand how important transportation is to your daily lives. Many of our riders rely on us to get to work, school, medical appointments and more. We value your continued service and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.
To help maintain reliable service and get you where you need to go, we are asking the community for support!
Currently, the number of transit and paratransit drivers and security officers in our workforce is approximately 1,700 positions, with more than 100 vacant positions that our contractors are looking to fill immediately. Our drivers are essential workers who continue to move millions of Southern Nevadans across the valley and we owe our successes to the countless drivers who work long days throughout these uncertain times to better connect our community.
Our contractors are currently hiring for several positions, with opportunities for competitive hiring bonuses, weekly bonuses, and benefits. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a driver, please apply directly with MV or Keolis: https://www.rtcsnv.com/about/careers
Transportation plays a vital role in the growth and success of our community. Take the wheel on your career and consider joining our family today!
