RTC Viva Bike Vegas 2009

REI and the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada(RTC) invite you to participate in RTC Viva Bike Vegas 2009! Beginning in July and continuing through October, REI will offer regular weeknight classes on bike safety, bike maintenance, nutrition and training. Saturday, July 18 begins weekly group training rides hosted by RTC at both REI Henderson and Boca Park, with the goal of completing the 35 mile ride during RTC Viva Bike Vegas on Saturday, October 10.
The program begins Tuesday, July 14 at REI Boca Park and Thursday, July 16 at REI Henderson. Please view the calendar below for all our currently listed clinics and informational meet ups:

Basic Bike Maintenance with Viva Bike Vegas |
Viva Bike Vegas is just around the corner! Don't let a flat tire or poor shifting sideline you on ride day! Fixing on the fly can be daunting when you don't know where to begin. The purpose of this clinic is to ease the challenge of keeping your bicycle in good working order to prevent future costly repairs.

For Starters and the experienced! Guest presenter Jackie Arcana will discuss the latest in training, hydration, and nutrition strategies for your next cycling, running, or triathlon event. She'll cover heat acclimation, useful tips for hot endurance events as well as general training nutrition questions. Jackie is a certified USA Triathlon Level 2 coach, USA Cycling coach and ACE certified personal trainer.

REI Supervisor Robert Edwards will use the experience he's gained over 20 years of coaching and completing scores of Century Rides to make sure your ride morning with Vive Bike Vegas is stress-free and enjoyable. Whether you completing 118 or 35 miles in October, all are welcome to attend this great presentation.
