LAS VEGAS – The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) transit system will operate on a Saturday schedule for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Monday, Jan. 16.
In addition, the RTC will have various route detours in place due to road closures in downtown Las Vegas during the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., parade. Detours will run from approximately 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Impacted transit routes include Route 109 – Maryland Pkwy.; Route 113 – Las Vegas Blvd. North; Route 208 – Washington; Route 215 – Bonanza; Boulder Highway Express (BHX); Centennial Express (CX); Deuce on the Strip; Downtown & Veterans Medical Center Express (DVX); Henderson & Downtown Express (HDX); and Westcliff Airport Express (WAX). In addition, a detour will be in place for the Strip & Downtown Express (SDX) at Casino Center at Charleston from approximately 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. during the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., block party.
For optimum service, the RTC encourages customers to download its new transit app, rideRTC, to plan their trip, buy their fare and find their bus. Through its integration with Transit app, rideRTC provides real-time information about the locations of buses. It’s available for free on Android and iPhone phones.
