2013-2035 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) and 2013-16 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Clark 1 2014 Amendment

public notice has been published to inform the public of an amendment to the RTP and TIP.  The following changes are proposed in this RTP and TIP amendment:

  1. Changes to the funding and programming of projects in the RTP and TIP;
  2. Changes to the completion year of the projects in the RTP and TIP;
  3. And other new projects requested by the area agencies for inclusion in the RTP and TIP. The above changes are reflected in the Appendix -1 Table-2 of the RTP.  The proposed amendment required the RTC to perform the Air Quality Conformity Analysis – which is shown in “the findings of the air quality conformity analysis that was performed”.

Regional Transportation Plan 2013-2035

The RTP is a federally mandated comprehensive and long-range plan for the transportation system in the Las Vegas metropolitan area. The document details the transportation investments to be made between now and the year 2035 for road, transit, and bicycle/pedestrian projects. The RTP was adopted by the RTC Board on December 13, 2012 and received federal approval in February 2013.

Transportation Improvement Program 2013-2016

The first four years of projects identified in the Regional Transportation Plan comprise the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).  The TIP is also a federal requirement and allows federal funds to be authorized for capital projects in the next four years. The TIP was also adopted by the RTC Board on December 13, 2012 and received federal approval in February 2013.

Transit Program of Projects 2013

Lastly, the first year of transit capital projects identified in the Regional Transportation Plan makes up the Transit Program of Projects (TPP).  This too is a federal requirement and shows how federal transit funding will be spent on transit capital projects in the coming year. The TPP was also adopted by the RTC Board on December 13, 2012 and received federal approval in February 2013.
