The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has been awarded $2.7 million from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) under Section 5309 Bus and Bus Facilities Livability Initiative Program Grant for the UNLV Transit Center Project.

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Transit Center will be located on the main campus.  The site for the transit center will be near the intersection of Maryland Parkway and University Avenue.  Development of the site and the usage of the transit center will be a joint venture between the RTC and UNLV.  Specific amenities at the site are expected to include six transit vehicle bays for Centennial Express (CX) and future UNLV campus shuttle vehicles.  Additional amenities include an outdoor shelter waiting area with canopies, bicycle racks, lighting, landscaping, and informational signage for route planning.

The UNLV Transit Center Project is part of a nationwide effort to promote livability and sustainability in transportation systems across the country.
